The objective of this course is to provide advanced training in the field of Petroleum Geoscience with practical training in an industrial environment. The course starts in the first semester of every academic year, usually in the month of June or July. At the end of the second semester, students are required to undertake an eight-week practical assignment, usually in an E&P or Service company. They are also required to present a seminar as well as submit a written report on the project undertaken during this assignment.
This one year programme provides advanced training in Petroleum Geoscience with practical training in an industrial environment. Students are exposed to computational methods in analysing and presentation of geological data and encouraged to use them in their coursework and projects.

Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in earth science from a recognised university or academic institution
Bachelor’s degree in other science-based disciplines from a recognised university or academic institution

Language Requirement
Foreign candidates are required to:
Have at least IELTS Band 6 or TOEFL 550 if their first degree is from a university where English is not the medium of instruction.
Or
Pass an English proficiency test approved by the University.
This Master's programme requires candidates to fulfill both coursework as outlined by the department, and fieldwork as assigned. Successful completion of the programme is also subject to the standards set by the Faculty.
