STUDENT AFFAIRS & ALUMNI DIVISION, UM HOLDS CAREER PATH 2018
Career Path is a career fair held annually by the Counselling & Career Section, Student Affairs & Alumni Division, University of Malaya (UM) to address issues on unemployment among UM graduands but also among the public as well.
Career Path 2018 has been conducted on two consecutive days, 16 and 17 April 2018 at the Dewan Tunku Canselor, UM. 57 companies from the public and private sectors took part in the event. They are from various fields such as banking, engineering, construction, education and ICT to name a few.
Being one the many career-related programme organised by the Counselling & Career Division Section each year, Career Path has become the platform for the graduands to directly interact with the industrial representative where the graduands are exposed to myriad of industries. They will have the opportunity to know more of the companies’ background on whether or not it suits with their background of studies and also the requirements they need to secure jobs according to different fields of work.
More than just about recruitment and opportunity for students to find jobs and companies for internship, Career Path 2018 also served as a one-stop centre for job seekers to learn more about increasing one’s employability and the process involved in career planning. Hiring companies also conducted on-the-spot interviews for eligible candidates. Furthermore, trusted career resources and recruitment agency were also present for higher chances for the graduands to be hired upon graduation.
